My Earliest Childhood Memories | Then & NOW

THEN
from Book reviewer's Pen..
CHILDHOOD

"Childhood." When one hear the word childhood, one is filled with all the innocent mischievous things one had ever done. Every one have that distant memory which one never forgots. About your first day in school or that birthday party or the numerous beatings from ones parents.
Well what I remember most from my childhood is that I was quite a dumb child!
Yes it takes quite a courage to admit I was dumb. Not like all the computer brained kids God makes now a days.
Or was it only me!!!!
The fact that I was a dumb kid was that I flunked school twice and was just an average child throughout.
Apart from that there was once an incident where I remember I used to think kids in school were born in school uniforms!!
Once while going to school. I saw there were footprints of a person on the road which vanished near a manhole. I was dead scared that the man must have gone down the drain!!

Not to forget I didn't even knew the multiplication table of 10! Yes that was me. So stupid and dumb!!

Then came a time when we were taught about bees and flowers. How the pollen flies about with the help of bees and air and then fertilization occur. Now this is quite embarrassing to admit that I used to think that human fertilization too happens in the same way. Which was my thinking till I graduated!!!

NOW....
from a Friend's view......

I feel this is a mutual feeling for every child. We were not awesome. as we made all the mistakes that we could and that we shouldn't.

I am not surprised, as failure and success is part of life and in childhood those were lessons which made us what we are. As since our "Book reviews - Then lady"  is a very smart lady bacuase she now know her weakness. She, was not a talkative person, she still isn't. But the gap is filled by reading. She read and read. "The fastest reader I have met yet. GOSH.!!"

So, this is a very important read, for everyone who is afraid of failing. Or who feels they are under too much pressure. Do what best you can do, be honest to yourself.
Everyone has their destiny written. yes of-course the tendency of  achieving Success after good education is much more than others. But name all the Entrepreneurs / Big shots / Singers / Celebrities, most of them are not that good academically but yet they do much better then anyone else.

Believe me if you put your focus to anything you can achieve it. Do what you are best at.
For the best example, the lady who just spoke that she is the dumbest one, is not author of our "BOOK REVIEW BLOG",
She is the one who corrects me on everything and is the most independent and self sufficient lady I have ever met.

" Believe in yourself. Just do what you are best at and Never Never Give Up."

You are here on earth for a special Task. You might not know it yet but eventually you will make a difference. But
"Nothing can be achieved by Quitting."

If you like something pursue it, chase your dream and achieve what you want to be. That's what you are here for. Protect your dream. "Its your happiness and your responsibility."

Life Lesson : Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom

Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

When I started reading this book the first thought that crossed my mind was of the persons close to my heart who are no more with us. How would they had behaved had they known that they were about to die just like Morrie knew his days were few.
I personally missed my Dad the most.
He left us suddenly without any notice.
No goodbyes or any chance to do or say anything to anyone. Though I still don't know how it would have been had I got a chance to do more for him. How would it been had he knew his days were numbered? Is people who get this chance as Morrie did are more Lucky or are people like my Dad who leaves as peacefully as he did more Lucky?
I surely don't think Dad would have liked to be dependent on anyone. He was a very private person. But then everyone have personal preference.

So what do people like us do?
We surely cannot wait for some terminal death threatening illness to take over us to understand the meaning of life.
Then what do we do?
We just need to accept this simple reality of life-
"Everyone knows they're going to die, but nobody believes it"
Since eventually one day we all are going to die why not live a meaningful life?
How can we bring meaning to our life?

" The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning "

We all are so busy in things which we think are important that we forget to see where we are.
Then we learn the importance of love , family and marriage

"Love each other or perish".

These are the only things which can sustain us when we are old.
Having friends and associates can't substitute for family. So we all must invest in human family. Take responsibility for things, for each other. That's the only way we can make this world a better place to live.
Paying attention to people while they are talking. Hearing them out and listening to them. Is a small price to earn a livelong trustworthy relationship.

" Death ends a life, not a relationship "

In our life many a times we regret certain things. Not being able to mend while we could have. We want to go back and undo certain things. Which makes our lifes miserable. But we need to control our emotions and learn to forgive.

" Forgive yourselves before you die. then forgive others. "

Living a happy and meaningful life is not as tough as we think it to be.
We just need to stand back for a few minutes and see what really makes us happy. What we all need from life. That is the only way we all can be happy.

Books vs Movies | Experience and Preference

The Never Ending Debate, what is better. Book or Movie.
Book Lover : "The Book offers way more details and are more memorable as compared to a small movie. Books become your friends."
Movie Lover : " If it can be explained in 2 Hours why waste number of days for the same & visual are way better than the words."

HERE WE ARE : Books vs Movies
The question of books or movies is similar to the debate of which came first chicken or egg. Different people will have different views. With all the points justifying to what they say.

Both books and movies can have innumerable pros and cons to it.
So what do we do, "Whether we read or simply go and watch a movie?"

In a fast pacing lifestyle of today most of us will justify watching a movie than go through reading it. Reading is more like an activity which involves time and patience. Its like a luxury in today's world with the irony that its not at all expensive.
There was a time in our life, where we would sneak storybooks into our regular course book and read them. The imaginative world it would. transport us to were pure bliss. Parents would scold us if caught with a storybook during exam times because exams were on head.
Nowadays times have changed. Children are no longer found reading books. Rather we can see them siting in front of television and computers.
In schools audio visuals are used to teach kids. Books are losing it charms which it one had.
Ok, here i am getting diverted.

So back to our topic of book or movie?

I personally feel a book is best and here's why.
First of all a book is always written first and then its adapted into a movie.
We never hear any movie being written into a book! Lol - Is this reason enough for someone out there to grap a book and start reading ??

When we read books its like a whole world of imagination opening up to us. But the movie limits that imagination to the movie makers imagination. We only see what the movie wants us to. But with books its not that.
Books are more detailed
Due to time constraints of a standard movie, the completion of the plot within those time constraints is the primary focus. As a result character development and other story details are often omitted.
No movie can tell us details as to what a character's mind is going through this is possible only through books.

A wrong act and the whole movie loses its essence.
movies tends to twist and change the story line.
we can read books at our own pace at our own comfort. With ebooks and kindles one can carry and read books almost anywhere and everywhere. Some of us out there might argue that movies too can be carried and watched anywhere and everywhere.
But friends can the movie on your mobiles have the same effect when watched on a bigger screen ?
Books will always have the same effect no matter where or how you read them.
Plus you can carry more books in your kindle than movies in a drive.

Books don't need any special device or environment. Say that for a movie.

Reading nurtures our vocabulary.
When we read we come across new words and it helps us build on our vocabulary. Some of our friends out there might say that even watching movies teaches us that. But my dear friends do movie gives us so much time as to pick up on complicated words and use them.

Books makes us a better speller.
Movies can no doubt make you a better speaker. But its a book which can help to write better or imagine better.

Reading is so much cheaper.
Reading is an economically better option than watching movie. Unless ofcourse you have other agenda on your mind other than watching the movie.

Reading books is peaceful. No one around us gets disturbed.
Yes we can say that for movies too. If we have our headphones.
But don't all of us yearn for surrounded sound system for a particular kind of movie?

Image result for Book vs Movies
Visual effects which we often see in movies is something which somebody pictured in their head first, and quite often the special effects pale in comparison to the original vision. Books opens up that world in your head which have no limitations or budget restraints.

So for the above mentioned reasons i would always prefer books to movies.
Feel free to comment. Or add in any points I might have missed.
